Anthony Sarlese, CLU, ChFC, CEO AgentQuote
Anthony (Tony) Sarlese is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a BS degree in
Business Administration with minors in mathematics and physics. Mr. Sarlese has been in Life Insurance sales
since 1984 and is a former "Top of the Table" producer.
Mr. Sarlese is the founder and creator of InstantQuote.com, one of the original Internet Web Sites that
quotes Term Life Insurance (formed in 1995). Mr. Sarlese is one of the original founders of AgentQuote.com
formed in 1999.
Mr. Sarlese began his career at Rockwell Corporation as an Industrial Engineer before serving in the United
States Navy as an Officer and Naval Aviator. Mr. Sarlese began his sales career in 1973. From 1975 to 1983 he
worked as an outside sales representative covering Southern California for a national Jewelry manufacturer.
He increased sales from $100,000 to $600,000 and increased his ranking from 27th to 4th out of 27 sales
representatives.
John M. Perry, President
Mr. Perry has extensive experience using technology to accomplish business objectives and in management of
high-volume processes. Mr. Perry holds an MS degree in Information Technology from Azusa Pacific University in
Azusa, CA, and a BS degree in Business Administration from California State University at Dominguez Hills.
Prior to joining AgentQuote.com in 2001, Mr. Perry served as IT Manager for a strategic business unit at
Southern California Edison, one of the Nation's largest electric utilities. As IT Manager for SCE's Customer
Services Business Unit, Mr. Perry was responsible for ensuring the business unit needs were well understood
and reflected in an IT strategy and plan. Along with strategy formation, Mr. Perry was responsible for the
successful development, maintenance, and architectural fit of approximately 70 applications. Significant
applications included; SCE's Customer Facing Internet that included close to 2000 pages and touched virtually
every aspect of SCE's operations, SCE's Customer Data Warehouse which merged demographic and firmographic
information with SCE's legacy Customer Information System, and SCE's Marketing Information System which
provided sales force automation and management capability.
Prior to the above assignment, Mr. Perry managed SCE's Customer Billing Process that produced 4+ million
bills per month accounting for approximately $7.5 billion in annual revenue. O&M budget for the entire
billing process was in excess of $70 million/year, and included meter reading, customer accounting, and the
customer billing computer applications. In this assignment, Mr. Perry directly managed an organization of 250
employees, with matrix management responsibilities for an additional 700. Mr. Perry's organization implemented
numerous process efficiencies that resulted in a 50% improvement in the key metric (on time bill delivery)
while achieving a decrease in cost of operations. During this assignment Mr. Perry became an avid student of
Human and Organizational Development, with extensive use of employee teams organized to achieve process and
organizational improvements.
H. Rudy Nesmith, Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Nesmith has been involved in the area of software application design dating from 1975. Mr. Nesmith
holds an MS degree in Experimental Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he majored in
Mathematical Modeling of Human Concept Formation. Mr. Nesmith has a broad background in the area of scientific
and computer applications, business, and innovation. Some of his accomplishments include:
- Developer of Hyperbase, a structure free database technology used in a full-text retrieval system
currently in use by major law firms and corporate legal departments for searching of litigation data.
- Developer of LIMPEX, a standard for importing and exporting data between proprietary database products.
- President of PMR Printing, Inc., a successful newspaper and publication printing company in New York
City during the late 1970's. PMR did $2MM in annual sales and employed 20 people in downtown Manhatten.
- Candidate for United States Senate from the state of North Carolina in 1979 and the youngest qualified
candidate to ever run for the US Senate.
- Founder of Twin Oaks Community in 1967, an experimental community based on the works of behavioral
psychologist B. F. Skinner. The community still thrives and is one of the longest lived secular planned
communities.
- Inventor of the M.I.S. Touch Screen for Children. A software and hardware product which enabled
children as early as 2 years old to use a personal computer for pattern and color concept formation
learning.
- Inventor of Potty-Pal, a children's toilet training device that automatically rewards the child for
success and makes the process of training fun for the child and thus more effective.
- From 1982 to 1992, Mr. Nesmith founded and developed Minicomputer Interactive Systems, Inc., a
successful software development company doing $1.25 M in software sales to major legal firms throughout
the U.S. and Europe. In 1992 Mr. Nesmith sold the firm to a division of Stenographics Corporation.
- Mr. Nesmith has authored articles in the Journal of Experimental Psychology, the M.I.S. Update
publication for computer automation in the legal community, has given seminars on Internet Marketing,
Commercial Transactions on the Web, and Creation of Web Pages.
- Mr. Nesmith is listed in Who's Who in the World, Sterling Edition and is currently involved in the
expansion and success of Web-2000 Inc. and InstantQuote.com. Web-2000 Inc. specializes in the development
of custom database-intensive and secure Internet/Intranet commerce solutions. Web-2000 Inc. also develops
and hosts Web Sites. InstantQuote.com is a Web Site that quotes term life insurance nationally.
Melissa Dehakiz, Customer Support Manager
Melissa was a Former soloist of the Metropolitan City Ballet Company in New York City. She brings the same
dedication, discipline and artistic talent to AgentQuote that was required in her dance career. Melissa's more
traditional work experience includes customer support related positions in the airline, job placement and real
estate fields.
Melissa is responsible for ensuring AgentQuote customers experience a smooth and hassle-free registration
process, and are able to make maximum use of AgentQuote features to achieve the look, feel and capability
desired.
